la mission

so....

Spanning the entire time i have resided in CT (3 years), i have yet to figure out the lack of fashion sense that i see on a daily basis. now, i realize that relying on superficial reasons to dictate where you live is a little ridiculous, BUT COME ON! i need to get out of here. it wasnt as bad for me until i began attending graduate school at wonderful Central Connecticut State University that i began to realize the major disconnect in the fashion sense the young people in this state possess. The following topics basically communicate the reason for creating this blog. it is an outlet of sorts for me, i need to get it off my chest before my boyfriend leaves me for consistently complaining about what people choose to cover their bodies with.
a. i have yet to figure out the hot topic crew of people that still seem to firmly believe that studded belts and heavily covering the bodies with tattoos is "rad." piercings, septum, monroe, and any others are so outdated it is appauling. but, still there remains this CT crew that still cannot see past the fact that what they sell at hot topic DOES NOT look good. just recently this group of people has caught onto trends that are now too old to rock; kafias, and overabundance of neon...the rest i'll keep to myspelf for now.
b. if i see another north face fleece paired with pastel ugg boots i am going to take a fork and dig my own eyes out.
c. if you have curly hair, PLEASE ROCK IT, frizz that shit out and let it do it's thang NATURALLY. i am so sick of seeing gelled up frizzy hair that stinks like herbal essence (monika reminded me of this). it's like my boy jason sho green says, "if you can rock the afro, rock the afro."
d. coach bags, vera bradley bags, long champ bags, oh please, oh please make it stop. vera bradley bags should be reserved for when you are 80 and they should only be used to keep your yarn and knitting needles in.....
for now, this has calmed me down and preoccupied me from research papers on post traumatic stress disorder. it is good that i am exploring these things in grad school, i need them sometimes when dealing with the terrible fashion i see on the daily here in CT.
