KIDS

A scorpio, born in 1974, she has been a longtime fashion icon for numerous designers, celebs and me. Born in Darien, CT., Chloe has modeled for Miu Miu, H&M, Uniqlo, Opening Ceremony (just to name a few)...she has also been linked to Monsieur
Gallo and has been quoted as saying..."I always ended up getting involved with my close girlfriends, and that was really bad ... I love women -- they're beautiful. What more can I say?".....can we be friends???

muy muy muy

you cant replicate it's greatness

if youve been living in a cave your whole life and have not yet seen this film, you must. first, the camera work in it is truly ahead of it's time. Considered a cult classic, many a director/filmmaker has attempted to emulate it. in my opinion no one has been successful.
my mama was the one who first showed me this movie, she said she thought it was the scariest movie she had ever seen. The movie was made in 1968....so the fashion and hair are "to die for." be sure not to miss the amount of fabulous trench coats throughout the movie...

What's with all these awards? They're always giving out awards. Best Fascist Dictator: Adolf Hitler.

You cant even believe the amount of complete fashion icon ism (made that one up i believe) in ANNIE HALL. i forgot until last night. went back to NH and borrowed the movie from mama, who is a die hard Woody Allen fan. Ive seen the movie many times, but it's been awhile, i even have a small framed photo of "Annie and Alvy" above my record collection. But, i need to remind all who view this blog (does anyone anymore....i need to interject, that it seems that there are so many people who have blogs nowadays that it is hard to get to all of em) and for someone like me who hates staring at a computer screen for too many hours of my life....it takes WAAAAY too long).
anyway, back to the film. i was realizing last night that Diane Keaton has for right now in my life become THE FASHION ICON for erin e. i have been dabbling a bit with real baggy jeans, hats and neck ties.....when i saw some of her get ups,,,welll all of them i was immediately even more inspired and felt that in some parallel fashion i have been developing on my own the complete style of ANNIE HALL!!!.
I would also add that even though i couldnt find a pic of her in the movie, shelley duvall's looks are pretty damn good-- as well as Carol Kane....

jena malone and her blood stains

href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKN9U84Yk4WiohY1duH8o3NgC3r8iXChlIMBzSVWV08arSQCPKEPReqR-AvqgHLp15xIMPbjnfseIyznM2GpXi3KFJKRQ6I1Zrmq1I_pQMYYpEDoyBkJohLg8I4yqJ50VyY-tzQUOLhjs/s1600-h/jm.jpg">
so, many of you may remember her from the movie "step mom" with susan sarandon. (it took me awhile to think of what she was in) and even in that she was pretty young.
well, she has a band now, jena malone and her blood stains and they are pretty fucking good. in comparison to many of her actress turned musician counterparts, zooey and scarlett. this is a review written by someone else, but i think that it puts things in clear perspective about how truly cute she really is.
"Last year I went to see Animal Collective at Bowery Ballroom. It was one of those rare shows where I decided seeing the band while seated would be much more enjoyable then standing and seeing the band all the way up front, so I ventured to the balcony with a friend and grabbed a table. As the show progressed through the openers Jena Malone came and stood next to us, clearly as stoned as Mary Magdalene would have been had Jesus not intervened. Jena spent the rest of the set grooving to the stylings of the Animal Collective like you could not imagine. Between touching herself and rubbing against the wall, I could not believe my eyes. And the most amazing part of the whole scene was she was the only person in the entire place that was dancing, showing that she "got" the music more than anyone else (I think). If you take the time to listen to the songs you will undoubtedly pick another female indie singer and attempt to compare them. Please don't do this. Jena's voice is loaded with effects on these recordings, and very lo-fi one's at that. The result is a subdued voice that barely comes out enough to hear over the music. Musically the Bloodstains go for the same lo-fi sound, passing keyboards, bass, and guitars through loads of distortion and synthetic effects and recording them at the lowest quality they possibly could have. All this blends together to create four heartfelt, passionate songs that easily transport you to another world."(taken from http://poptartssucktoasted.blogspot.com)

undoubtedly an album i am going to buy. you can also check out their music on their myspace (which still is way better than facebook) http://www.myspace.com/ofwildanimals

re discoveri (please click on the links)

i have some things to mention that are in my mind this eve, but i feel as though i would much rather talk about my new rediscovery. I have often found myself going back to musicians for whatever reason at different points in my life. it just seems that i get really tired of things after awhile, or maybe its just because i listen to it so so much when i first discover it that i create some kind of immunity in my ears or something.
well, my grandmother's death was very difficult for me, yes it has been two years, about two years since she has passed....i still think about her at least once every day. when she was eventually gone, there was this loneliness that crept through me, not only because i missed her, but because i missed the person i was when she was around. i had lost her....and me too i guess.
i found it easier to mourn her every time i listened to antony and the johnsons...it was like all of the sadness that i felt about her was slowly drained out of me in every shrill note that came from his rosy mouth. i have always been a keen admirer of antony, i had first heard his voice on a mix cd that was made for me, then later on a compilation called golden apples of the sun which consisted of devendra's elite. i immediately ran out to buy "i am a bird now" and as i was completely immersed in it, i failed to realize the self titled album from 2000. this album has gotten me through my grieving process and continues to make me think of my grandmother every time i hear it. music evokes emotion in all of us, antony just seems to do this for me.
awhile back i saw antony and the johnsons in montreal. he played with coco rosie. coco rosie was amazing, if you are ever looking for a show with the TRUE experience, go and see them. i enjoyed myself, and i felt light, when antony began to pound the keys of his piano effortlessly i realized tears were streaming down my face.
i was comforted by a shorter man standing next to me crying as well. he put his arm around me and we cried together......somehow, i was comforted by a stranger with a french accent that night.
