Mr. Mark Jacobs

so it seems spring has arrived (although this is N. England afterall and i dont completely trust that it is REALLY here yet)...but, if it is, spring only means 1 good thing, and 1 bad thing.

good=too hot for UGG boots.
bad= now i gots to look at stinky old navy flip flops everywhere i walk.
oy vei........
anyway, i am excited about spring, there are many other good things about it besides the ugg boots gettin' put in the closet. the fash choices are so good. flowy layered fabrics, and mixing patterns. dont be afraid, if you got a paisley shirt to match it with that real cute vintage plaid scarf. also, for the boys, tweed blazers are nice for spring..preferrably in stripes (i love striped blazers). they must be fitted though, dont have the shoulder pads hangin'
also. STAY AWAY from the baby doll dresses, these have outdated themselves now. once it is something that old navy cant get enough of, it means it has gone far out of style. plus, it's overkill. i was gettin' my hair did the other day and one of the hair dressers (who had two toned hair, you know what i'm throwin' at here, when it's blonde on the top and brown on the bottom) YIKES, well, she was wearing a strappy royal blue cotton baby doll with black leggings and black kitten heals. i was sitting there while my hair dye was settin' and thinking. i can only imagine how many compliments she got today from clueless people on that outfit....i know. i'm evil to the core, but it keeps me alive.

tomorrow, monika polska, hutch and i venture to philly for a rally for the great Mumia Abu Jamal. Mumia is a renowned journalist from Philadelphia who has been in prison since 1981 and on death row since 1983 for allegedly shooting Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. He is known as the “Voice of the Voiceless” for his award- winning reporting on police brutality and other social and racial epidemics that plague communities of color in Philadelphia and throughout the world. Mumia has received international support over the years in his efforts to overturn his unjust conviction. we will be covering some fashion seen on the streets in philly when we are there, so stay tuned for that. until then....be well.....be lovely and always remember that fashion is a movement too.
