It works in this pic, especially when she puts her black/plaid coat on. I think it's a weird personal thing. like, will it bother you all day and night if you're mixing the two, or will you just go with it? if it's pulled together, in a clever way, i'd say sure. but, it largely depends on the pieces, and what else is going on. if there are 2 blacks and one brown, or vice versa, it would drive me less nuts:o
