Soooooooo

summer is coming to an end and chilly fall is taunting us.
ive been slowly going through my wardrobe, packing away summer goodness and evaluating what i need for the fall and winter seasons.
just purchased the most amazing boots and i cant wait to showcase them with a big chunky sweater and this amazing creme silk slip dress i just bought. my lover & i took a trip to Brimfield Antique Show and there was so much amazingness to feast my eyes on that by the end of the day i was exhausted to say the least.
we went home to cuddle, munch on some fish tacos and watch Almost Famous.

Been thinking a lot lately of how peaceful life has been. Its amazing what a little re-evaluating in life can do.  Ive learned over the years and in my profession that there are just some people who will always bring toxicity and negative energy with them where-ever they go. im a firm believer that it takes far more energy to be angry than happy and only WE are in control of our own happiness.  ive learned to rid my life and my surroundings of negative energy and those who create it and thrive on it.
the older i get, the more finite i realize life to be and i want to live it happy and fulfilled, doing what i can to better the world around me. im lucky to have a profession that provides that for others who are less fortunate than myself.
LIVE AND LEARN my sweets, until next time.

long lost.

hi everyone who is still checking in... to those followers who will be updated.
im so sorry that it has been so very long since ive posted to this silly ole blog.
ive been distracted, distracted by love and life. arent we all i assume??

these days ive come to realize that the place i have been calling "home" for almost 6years truly is not and has never been home to me. ive made countless valuable connections with people while living here but this place has never fully stimulated me. i need more, more art, more creativity, more drive, ambition, more variety.

as ive been saying for some time now, im planning to move...question is where. i spend a lot of time in nyc visiting with various friends who have migrated from here to there. i love nyc, it energizes me, stimulates me and i feel surrounded by like minded people most of the time. my heart truly belongs to summer tho, which is why ive also contemplated the warmer climate of LA, echo park/silver lake areas. ive visited there once and fell in love. the weather, the culture, the food, the vintage, the venues, the mexican hipsters. all something to see and all things i could definitely surround myself with feeling content for quite some time.

i need to make my moves.
for now, i leave u darlings with some fashion photos ive been compiling over the months during my absence............

be kind, be humble and be compassionate. these things will get you far.

splendor, my sweet splendor

Sometime during my teenage years my mama showed me a movie called 'Splendor in The Grass.' she told me about Natalie Wood and her romances with both Warren Beatty and Mister Frank Sinatra. She told me that Natalie Wood drowned off a yaucht owned by Robert Wagner's family. The official theory is that Wood either tried to leave the yacht or to secure a dinghy from banging against the hull when she accidentally slipped and fell overboard. When her body was found, she was wearing a down jacket, nightgown, and socks. A true tragedy.
'Splendor in the Grass' is a passionate love story about a young couple trying to fight for the love they both feel for eachother. Wood's character comes from a lower class family as Beatty's from an upper class world. There was always a Romeo and Juliet kind of pull between the two statuses. I believe this was Beatty's first film debut and Wood looks ravishing, she had true natural beauty that it all her own. Beatty's character's sister is a flashy flapper with a drinking problem and a style thats way ahead of her time.
Im currently reading, and loving Just Kids by Patti Smith. She writes about how Maplethrope's favorite movie was always 'Splendor in the Grass'. When i read that i felt a special kinship with dear Robert as 'Splendor' has always been one of my favorite films as well.

if you read this blog........

then just know that i am your biggest fan and THANKU.

this blog all started out as a venting forum for me. i was enrolled in graduate school at a university in the middle of CT where it just seemed everyone lacked some kind of individuality and/or style. i blame myself for coming to this hell hole in the first place, but in order for me to deal with the lack of visual stimulation and personality (without dropping out of graduate school and skipping town) i decided to start a blog about fashion faux pas. it has since expanded and become a tool for me to just have fun and let people know whats good in my world.

what do you want more of? leave me comments por favor. i would greatly love your feedback.

for now here is some DARGER for your sweet eyes

ive been avoiding the internet at all costs.

since my laptop was viciously stolen from my apartment my only connection to the cyber world has been at work ( and i try to keep it minimal). just watched this movie again for the second time and it still is one of my most recent inspirations for style.
i couldnt find any pictures via google.com, but i did find a brief writeup about the film on wikipedia.

please explore by clicking this link, you wont be disappointed.
