You cant even believe the amount of complete fashion icon ism (made that one up i believe) in ANNIE HALL. i forgot until last night. went back to NH and borrowed the movie from mama, who is a die hard Woody Allen fan. Ive seen the movie many times, but it's been awhile, i even have a small framed photo of "Annie and Alvy" above my record collection. But, i need to remind all who view this blog (does anyone anymore....i need to interject, that it seems that there are so many people who have blogs nowadays that it is hard to get to all of em) and for someone like me who hates staring at a computer screen for too many hours of my life....it takes WAAAAY too long).
anyway, back to the film. i was realizing last night that Diane Keaton has for right now in my life become THE FASHION ICON for erin e. i have been dabbling a bit with real baggy jeans, hats and neck ties.....when i saw some of her get ups,,,welll all of them i was immediately even more inspired and felt that in some parallel fashion i have been developing on my own the complete style of ANNIE HALL!!!.
I would also add that even though i couldnt find a pic of her in the movie, shelley duvall's looks are pretty damn good-- as well as Carol Kane....

so, many of you may remember her from the movie "step mom" with susan sarandon. (it took me awhile to think of what she was in) and even in that she was pretty young.
well, she has a band now, jena malone and her blood stains and they are pretty fucking good. in comparison to many of her actress turned musician counterparts, zooey and scarlett. this is a review written by someone else, but i think that it puts things in clear perspective about how truly cute she really is.
"Last year I went to see Animal Collective at Bowery Ballroom. It was one of those rare shows where I decided seeing the band while seated would be much more enjoyable then standing and seeing the band all the way up front, so I ventured to the balcony with a friend and grabbed a table. As the show progressed through the openers Jena Malone came and stood next to us, clearly as stoned as Mary Magdalene would have been had Jesus not intervened. Jena spent the rest of the set grooving to the stylings of the Animal Collective like you could not imagine. Between touching herself and rubbing against the wall, I could not believe my eyes. And the most amazing part of the whole scene was she was the only person in the entire place that was dancing, showing that she "got" the music more than anyone else (I think). If you take the time to listen to the songs you will undoubtedly pick another female indie singer and attempt to compare them. Please don't do this. Jena's voice is loaded with effects on these recordings, and very lo-fi one's at that. The result is a subdued voice that barely comes out enough to hear over the music. Musically the Bloodstains go for the same lo-fi sound, passing keyboards, bass, and guitars through loads of distortion and synthetic effects and recording them at the lowest quality they possibly could have.
